Is Chainsaw Man Season 2 Happening?
Chainsaw Man is so popular that it can be considered a pop culture phenomenon at the moment. It has generated a wealth of memes, fan fiction, cosplays, and merch, so Chainsaw Man Season 2 is pretty much guaranteed at this point. Some fans have even been disappointed at the number of Chainsaw Man episodes in Season 1. Many had hoped that the studio MAPPA anime would cover the entire Public Safety arc of the Chainsaw Man manga. But with only 12 episodes, the Chainsaw Man anime covered about half of that. Already, we’ve seen many Chainsaw Man moments we couldn’t wait to see animated, but the latter half of the Public Safety arc is where things get really wild. The Chainsaw Man anime is arguably a high-quality production, with a different ending song per episode, among other cool features, so taking it slow and starting with a modest first season seems to have paid off. But this isn’t the last we expect to see of the show. Given the warm reception Chainsaw Man has received so far, it’s clear that there would be an audience eagerly awaiting the rest of the story, so we don’t see why a second season wouldn’t be made as its success is already guaranteed.
Chainsaw Man Season 2 Release Date Predictions
As of writing, the exact release date of Chainsaw Man Season 2 hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised if news about it came out soon. The finale of Season 1 concluded with a characteristic quote by Reze, one of the main characters in the next arc which directly follows the Katana Man arc, which the anime just finished adapting. Moreover, the anime teased a significant plot point, namely Denji’s repressed trauma, which we currently don’t know much about. The fact that we already have a voice actor for Reze suggests that there’s a high chance that Season 2 is already in the making, or at least extensively planned. Therefore, we expect to hear good news very soon. For many popular anime titles, new content such as OVAs, Specials, or second seasons are announced immediately after a season finale. In some cases, this takes longer, but new content will be teased as soon as possible to keep the momentum going. Depending on the production and the studio’s other commitments, a second season can take one to two years to make. For instance, Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a second season two years after its original run, though it also got a movie in between. YOU MIGHT LIKE: Who Are Chainsaw Man’s Voice Actors?
