What Is the Gun Devil in Chainsaw Man?
The Gun Devil is one of Chainsaw Man’s most powerful devils, wreaking havoc and causing trauma all over the world. It represents people’s fear of guns, which explains its explosive devil abilities. It has the appearance of a floating humanoid figure, multiple building-sized rifles for arms, a skeletal body stacked with disembodied screaming heads, and an oversized gun barrel protruding from its skull-like face. The Gun Devil is frequently mentioned by Aki, Makima, and others throughout Chainsaw Man Part 1. The Gun Devil had a huge impact on the world, particularly on the lives of devil hunters who are looking for its whereabouts after it mysteriously vanished. When Does the Gun Devil Appear?
The Gun Devil first appeared in Chainsaw Man 13 years before the present day. It appeared at the height of global gun fear when everyone decided to purchase firearms to protect themselves from demons. The Gun Devil struck America on November 18, as if it were a large terrorist attack. It then lambasted Japan for 26 seconds, killing 57,912 people, including Aki’s family. Following its impact in Japan, the Gun Devil wreaked havoc on the world for five minutes in a row, killing 1.2 million people. Surprisingly, the Gun Devil vanished after everything that had occurred. To prevent it from happening again, international law was put in place to limit the production of firearms all over the world. Following that, the Gun Devil is said to have been defeated by an unknown man after the Soviet Union discovered its unconscious body. The Gun Devil’s body was then dismembered, with 20% going to the United States, 28% to the Soviet Union, 11% to China, and 4% to other countries, with the remaining 37% ending up in the hands of other devils as Gun Devil fragments. Later, on September 12, 1997, the United States used 20% of its ownership to summon the Gun Devil in exchange for the one-year lifespan of every citizen of the country in order to stop Makima’s evil plans for the world in the city of Nikaho in Akita Prefecture, Japan. Makima, on the other hand, used the devil contracts of Aki, Tendo, Yutaro, and Akane, as well as the Spider and Angel Devil, to counter the Gun Devil. The Gun Devil’s remnants possessed Aki’s dead body and became its fiend. Makima then gave the order for Aki (now the Gun Fiend) to ambush Denji and Power in their own apartment.
