What is the Plot of Disenchanted?
After the long wait, the much-anticipated sequel of Enchanted is finally here with Disenchanted, as Giselle and her family with Robert, Morgan, and their baby welcomes a new life in the suburbs but will Giselle find her happily ever after here? The official synopsis of Disenchanted is as follows: “It has been 15 years since Giselle and Robert wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.” From the synopsis, as she wishes for her very own fairy tale in the suburbs, she transforms the town into one, and it seems that Giselle will take a turn to the villainous side because, clearly, being a step-mother in a fairy tale usually means being the villain of the story, right? Disenchanted is also set to look more into the life of Morgan who will also get caught in the middle of the fairy tale life that Giselle wished for. However, it’s not only the suburbs that will be affected. It could also do the same for Andalasia as it is an Andalasian wand that grants Giselle’s wish. In a new fairy tale of twists and turns, will Giselle find herself a happily ever after or will it be a happily never after if she couldn’t reverse the spell before midnight arrives or else, everything becomes permanent? Be reminded of what love truly is in Disenchanted!
