According to Variety, during a recent investor’s call, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav mentioned that they have plans to do more Harry Potter movies in the studio with J.K. Rowling involved in the making of the potential new projects. “We’re going to have a real focus on franchises,” Zaslav said in response to a question from a media analyst about their plans for their content. “We haven’t had a Superman movie in 13 years. We haven’t done a Harry Potter movie in 15 years. The DC movies and the Harry Potter movies provided a lot of the profits of Warner Bros. Motion Pictures over the last 25 years.”
In that same remark, the Warner Bros. Discovery CEO went on to note that they are interested in doing more Harry Potter movies under one condition: “If we can do something with J.K. on Harry Potter going forward.” The report noted that they heard from sources that there is no active discussion right now with Rowling about developing another Harry Potter movie or even another Fantastic Beasts movie that is in early development following the third film. It is certainly an intriguing comment from Zaslav since Rowling has been a controversial figure for years and fans might be divided if ever the author eventually agrees to come on board to develop another Harry Potter movie. For now, let’s wait for more potential updates about their definitive plans for the future of the franchise. Also Read: Daniel Radcliffe Defends His Move to Speak Out Against J.K.
