When Alto and Lilia arrived at the location, Vermeil was able to break the chain and attack Obsidian. What she didn’t expect was that Alto would shield him and get hurt instead. Vermeil got even more upset so she attacked Obsidian once again, but Alto was too stubborn and fainted from her attacks. Seeing this, Vermeil went back to normal and healed Alto. Obsidian was surprised that demons can heal so he injected himself and turned into a demon. Vermeil punched him and knocked him out. It was later revealed that the only reason why Vermeil was able to heal Alto was because their life forces are now linked to each other.
