The actor’s fans had initially speculated that Cavill definitely left The Witcher to focus on his Superman role in DCU, however, when that didn’t work out, there had been no official announcements yet on the actor’s return, which fueled the curiosity even more.
Although there had also been reports on Cavill having creative differences with the showrunner’s vision for Geralt’s story, nothing has been fully confirmed yet, aside from when Cavill previously admitted he wanted a book-accurate Geralt, implying that the showrunner wasn’t agreeing with his opinion.

Recently speaking with NME to promote The Witcher spinoff, The Witcher: Blood Origin, showrunner Lauren Hissrich clearly responded to fan speculations. The showrunner must’ve expected to be asked about Henry Cavill’s exit from the Netflix series.
