As the cast and crew of The Acolyte are busy filming the series in the United Kingdom, set photos are also starting to emerge around the internet thanks to Daily Mail. It gave us our first look at the unnamed characters played by Lee Jung-jae, Dafne Keen, and Dean-Charles Chapman. In the set photos, Lee appears to be wearing a Jedi wardrobe which suggests that he will be playing someone in the Light side of the Force (unless there’s a twist that they’ll do on his character).
Meanwhile, Keen is seen wearing a costume that looks like a Sith wardrobe which hints that she might be playing someone in the Dark Side.
As for Chapman, it is pretty clear that he is likely playing a Jedi character based on the costume that he is wearing and his hairstyle, which also suggests that he could be a padawan.
While the set photos didn’t give us any idea about the story itself, it does tease the type of characters that we will be expecting to see in the series based on their look and it is in alignment with the story that they’ve been describing when they were announcing the series. It would be interesting to see if more set photos will come beside this. The series is described as “a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.” The cast also includes Amandla Stenberg, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Margarita Levieva. Leslye Headland created the series and serves as the showrunner, executive producer, and director of the pilot episode. Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef will also serve as executive producers while Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing.
