Diego Luna recently spoke to Comicbook.com about what people can look forward to in Andor. Interestingly, Luna stated that fans will get to find out if what Cassian Andor said about himself in Rogue One is true. “We’ll get to answer that and many other questions,” Luna said. “He talks about being part of this fight since he was six years old in Rogue One. He talks about a very dark past. He talks about doing terrible stuff for the Rebellion. We’re gonna get to know what he means, you know?”
Luna continued by praising creator Tony Gilroy on what he has done with the series. “The writing of Tony Gilroy is really interesting and complex. And I don’t think people actually know exactly what I’m talking about. Like, I didn’t either. When I read the material and his pitch and his ideas, I was like, ‘Wow, this is amazing,’” he said. “It’s, it’s in essence, it’s what I had in mind when I was playing the role, but obviously how it happens and the specificity and the context is just very rich and exciting to watch,” Luna concluded. It’s an exciting tease at what we can look forward to in Andor. Needless to say, we can’t wait for the three-episode premiere later this month. Andor will also star Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Forest Whitaker, and Fiona Shaw. The new Star Wars series is set to premiere on Disney+ on September 21, 2022.
