One of the heroes about to make his own path in the MCU and possibly become one of the new set of Avengers is Shang-Chi who made his debut in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings starring Simu Liu as the titular hero.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings easily became a fan-favorite and it is already given a go signal for a sequel with Simu Liu coming back as his hero and with Destin Daniel Cretton directing once more. However, there were no updates about Shang-Chi 2 during SDCC 2022.
When Simu Liu was asked what lies ahead for Shang-Chi in the future of the MCU, as shared by Shang-Chi News on Twitter, Liu said, “I don’t want to jump the gun or anything, but I feel like there might be room for me in a couple of those, wouldn’t you say? I was watching the presentation basically from Twitter and being like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna be busy. I’m gonna be busy the next few years.’”
While Liu didn’t indicate when or where, all he said is that Shang-Chi would be busy, hinting his appearance in various films before Shang-Chi 2 happens. Most likely, Shang-Chi will be appearing on Avengers: The Kang Dynasty with Cretton working with him again and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Other than the Avengers movies, Shang-Chi may also randomly appear in one of the projects before the two films closing the Multiverse Saga. He could be anywhere because frankly, anything is possible in the MCU especially now.
Theories suggest that Shang-Chi will be one of the main Avengers for Phase Five and Six alongside Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange at the frontlines. Witht the farewell of the original Avengers, it is time for the news ones to step up.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is currently streaming on Disney Plus.
