Disney+ will present Shadow Detective, a new Korean original series on the platform, to its subscribers. This year has been a successful one for Disney+ so far, as it has already released its planned Korean-language original productions. The streaming giant announced the lineup in March, and it has continuously dropped the titles in the past months. Among the Disney+ Korean original series include King of Savvy, Crazy Love, Big Mouth, The Zone: Survival, Moving, and Kiss Sixth Sense, among others. Before this year ends, the platform will add more titles to the site, including Lee Sung Min-led Shadow Detective.
Shadow Detective Plot
Disney+’s Shadow Detective is an upcoming crime suspense series about a detective named Kim Tae Rok. He is about to file a retirement to focus on having a peaceful life. However, he suddenly receives a phone call from a mysterious man, and it changes his life in an instant as he becomes a prime suspect in his colleague’s murder case. The detective then teams up with people to find the man and stop him from making threats and digging into his past. Shadow Detective Cast Members
Shadow Detective will be led by the veteran Korean actor, Lee Sung Min. He has been part of critically acclaimed flicks, including Misaeng: Incomplete Life, The Spy Gone North, The 8th Night, Memory, Juvenile Justice, and Narco-Saints. During the press conference at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas for the series on Tuesday, Lee Sung Min spoke about how much he enjoyed the series while working on it. He hyped fans by saying his character has a deep, mysterious trauma. He hates becoming a burden on his co-workers and is very protective of them. That’s the kind of person he is, but he has lost a close colleague, so I need to express that change in emotion and feeling as well as his medical suffering,” he said. Fortunately, he was able to pull off his skills with the help of the other cast members. Lee Sung Min appears in the series alongside Jin Goo, Kyung Soo Jin, and Lee Hak Joo. Meanwhile, Kim Minjae, Kim Hong Fa, Kim Tae Hoon, and Geum Kwang San complete the list of cast members.
