As previously announced on the official Twitter page of Shadow and Bone, they had promised the official release date for Season 2 along with a clip of the Darkling asking the darkness to follow him while bearing the caption of the release date and the darkness with the caption ‘announcement tomorrow.’

Without further ado, the official Netflix instagram account has posted nine teaser pics with Ben Barnes leading as its first photo. Netflix has announced that the official release date for Shadow and Bone Season 2 will be on March 16, 2023 which will contain eight episodes! Check out their post below:
Shadow and Bone Season 2 will bring back Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov, Ben Barnes as The Darkling/General Kirigan, Archie Renaux as Mal Oretsev, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Amita Suman as Inej Ghafa, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey, Danielle Galligan as Nina Zenik, Calahan Skogman as Matthias Helvar, and Daisy Head as Genya Safin.
Shadow and Bone is an adaptation from author Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse books which combined her Grisha trilogy and Six of Crows duology in one series. It is no surprise that fans are swarming over the series, now more than ever as it receives its March release, seeing as its first season premiered back in April 2021.
Alongside the returning cast, the second season will also be introducing highly anticipated characters’ appearances such as Wylan Henriks (to be played by Jack Wolfe), Nikolai Lantsov (to be played by Patrick Gibson), Tolya Yul-Bataar (to be played by Lewis Tan), and Tamar Kir-Bataar (to be played by Anna Leong Brophy).
