So it is truly a beast of its own, but shares a lot of the same maybe mechanisms as Dark does. In December 2020, Deadline reported that Cannes Film Festival award-winner Emily Beecham (The Pursuit of Love, Cruella) has been cast in 1899, and she’ll play the role of Maura Franklin.
