Ms. Marvel Episode 2 Reveals Whom The Bangle Originally Belongs To
In Ms. Marvel Episode 2, Crushed, while Kamala is training with Bruno to learn more about her powers, Bruno found out that the powers of Kamala are coming from within her and it is as if the bangle from her grandmother is just an activator of some sorts. Over dinner, Kamala’s family talked about the partition, a historical event that led to the separation of India and Pakistan, and while Yusuf, Kamala’s father, recounts the story, Kamala’s mother, Muneeba, walks away because her family’s story of that event is something that she ran away from for years. As Yusuf tells the story, Sana, the grandmother of Kamala, was just a toddler when she got separated from her father who was severely injured. It was said that Sana reunited with her father by following the trail of stars. As for Sana’s mother, she disappeared that day, never to be found again. Kamala got interested in asking Sana, her grandmother, to whom the bangle originally belonged to. Sana asked Kamala if she received her gifts and Kamala shot her back with a question on the bangle. Sana revealed that the bangle belonged to her mother, Aisha, but she retracted saying that she revealed too much.

The following day, the day of the celebration of the Eid Mubarak, Kamala asks Muneeba about her great-grandmother Aisha but she utterly dismisses Kamala saying that Aisha brought disgrace to their family. At the celebration of the Eid Mubarak, Kamala bonded with the Illumi-Aunties to learn more about Aisha and they had nothing good to say about her. As it turns out, a lot of gossips circulated about Aisha being a snake, having an affair, and even killing a man. Given that Aisha is hinted to be the last one to use the bangle before Kamala, it could be inferred that she may have used the bangle in the past which led to the gossip about her being the bearer of shame in the family. It remains to be a question where she went during the Partition of India which points to the possibility that she could still be alive. Also, Kamran and his mother may possibly be connected to Aisha as well. It’s questionable how the new kid in town knew about Kamala and her powers and it is Kamran’s mother in the visions of Kamala. Could it be that Najma, Kamran’s mother, is related to Aisha or could she be Aisha herself? This is something to look out for in the next episodes of Ms. Marvel, exclusively streaming on Disney Plus.
