Reporter Jeff Sneider revealed in his The Hot Mic podcast that he heard from sources that Doctor Doom is not going to be the main villain in the first Fantastic Four movie. Instead, he will be introduced during the post-credits scene as a set-up for the sequel. However, he didn’t provide any details regarding who will be the villain instead for the first film. There are plenty of choices that they can get from the comics with characters such as Mole Man, Impossible Man, Molecule Man, Super Skrull, Psycho-Man, and many more.

This is certainly interesting information since a lot of fans were assuming that Doctor Doom will be prominently featured in the series since he is the most popular villain that the team faced in the comics. However, since he’ll still show up in the post-credits scene, it looks like they will still cast the role for that stinger. For the past several months, there are also rumors that Doctor Doom will also show up in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever during a post-credits scene although it hasn’t been confirmed yet as of the moment. Either way, it is almost guaranteed at this point that the character will show up in the MCU soon. So far, the Fantastic Four movie is still in development with Matt Shakman already attached to direct while Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer are penning the screenplay. No official casting decision has also been made yet at this point.
