Made in Abyss Season 2 Episode 11 Recap
During Reg and Faputa’s fight, the former told the latter that he kept seeing glimpses of her crying, smiling, and full of gentle expressions. However, he can’t recall any of the important details about Faputa, no matter how hard he tries. Reg wants Faputa to stop destroying everything because she will burn herself until nothing remains. He asks Faputa what he can do to stop her. Unfortunately, Faputa has decided to fulfill her life’s purpose, even if it means killing Reg. However, Reg is powerless to stop Faputa. He was brought under the watch of the ruffian Narehate and sustained serious injuries while fighting. A furious Faputa confronted Riko about what she had done to Reg causing him to forget her. Her resentment of Riko grew stronger as the latter failed to respond. Faputa plans to kill Riko because she believes that everything and everyone deserves to die. Despite this, the remaining Narehates, including Moogie and Maa-san, decided to keep Riko safe from Faputa. Faputa began attacking Riko, but was stopped by Gaburoon. Much to Faputa’s surprise, Gaburoon told her that it was his duty to protect her. Faputa will gain nothing by attempting to harm Riko. Gaburoon informed Faputa that if she laid her hands on Riko, Reg would lose his Haku. Gaburoon was only concerned for Faputa’s future, which is why he decided to intervene. Riko agreed with Gaburoon’s words, telling Faputa that Reg was constantly thinking about her. Despite this, Faputa refuses to give up. She must put an end to everything for the sake of her mother and Reg. Suddenly, Belaf arrived with Nanachi, who was dressed in battle armor, before Faputa could launch another attack. Nanachi implored Riko to leave everything to them because Nanachi couldn’t sleep knowing Faputa was destroying everything. Faputa, on the other hand, is surprised to learn that her mother’s scent is strongly associated with Belaf. Faputa deduces that Belaf is one of the people who ate so much of her siblings, resulting in Belaf’s long hollowed form. Belaf released purple smoke as a gift to Faputa, allowing her to see Irumyuui’s past. While Faputa is perplexed, Belaf observes that Faputa will reach a point in her life when she will decide to value herself. Before dying, Belaf sends his best wishes to Faputa as she embarks on her own adventure. Meanwhile, Nanachi warns the other hollows to avoid the village’s circumference because the membrane has been torn. Nanachi also warns them to go below the village with Riko. While Faputa is stunned, Nanachi takes advantage of the opportunity to do something that will reach Faputa. Nanachi notices that Faputa carries three cradles of desire. If Riko is injured, Faputa will take advantage of the situation by bestowing one of the wish-granting eggs on her. Nanachi cannot allow it to happen. Nanachi concludes that Riko is the only person who can wish to go on an adventure while on the verge of death. If Wazukyan wishes to establish a Riko village, a type of blessing, he will be able to transform it into something capable of challenging the Golden City. As a result, Nanachi swore on Belaf’s remains that they would not let Wazukyan make the same mistake again, even if he was divinely possessed. Faputa can see Irumyuui’s bonds with Vueko and Belaf as she smells the latter’s feelings and emotions. However, Faputa still insists that she is a fire, the reincarnation of those who were eaten and desecrated. She begins to ponder her actions until a bird snatches a hermit rat in front of her. A Turbinid-dragon appears at the same time. Nanachi observes that the creatures are entering the village due to the destruction of the barrier. Species ranging from the Emperorshell to the Fuzosheppu begin feeding on the remaining hollows. Faputa became enraged when they began stealing her prey. She began attacking one monster after another while being shredded, amputated, and decapitated. Nonetheless, Faputa did not stop her attacks because she felt obligated to grant Irumyuui’s wish. As the creatures ate Faputa, who was trying her hardest to save the reason for her existence, the hollow village became a feeding ground. As she watches Faputa being devoured, Moogie sympathizes with her. Because Faputa is immortal, her body regenerates everything, creating a never-ending cycle. Faputa wonders if the point of her immortality is to suffer through all of this. They were able to save Faputa for a short time thanks to Io, Katii, and Togii. Gaburoon also fires an attack at the Turbinid-dragon in an attempt to attract Faputa’s attention. Gaburoon expresses regret for not being able to protect Faputa. Faputa was born to carry vengeance, but she obtained something irreplaceable, which he recognizes as Haku, or value. Gaburoon was able to tell Faputa that the days he spent with her were his Haku before the Turbinid-dragon smashed him to the ground. Following that, the Turbinid-dragon launches a direct attack on Faputa, who was being restrained by the other creatures. She was blasted in the air and passed out. When Faputa awoke, she was surprised to see the remaining hollows offering her parts of their bodies to eat. Faputa began devouring every hollow she could get her hands on. As the hollows try to feed themselves to Faputa to at least be of value to her, Faputa thinks about her duty as well as the things she doesn’t know as she grows. Faputa recovers before the episode ends. She confronts the Turbinid-dragons once more as she recalls Belaf’s final words. Faputa, more determined than ever, tells herself that she will be the one to determine what value means to her.
