With Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, the film has also been reportedly confirmed to be canon in the MCU. while it is clear that mutants and possibly the chances of X-Men also joining the MCU, there is still the need to wait for official announcements from Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios themselves. But the Marvel Studios boss reassures:
Adding more mutants to the canonical world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge step forward, especially with Phase Five set to open with even bigger crossovers such as The Marvels, Ant-Man and the Quantumania, Thunderbolts, and many more.
It is interesting how the studio plans on introducing potential mutants, however, in a previous interview with Time, the Ms. Marvel creator Bisha Ali openly said they weren’t pulling any punches the moment they revealed that Kamala is a mutant with the X-Men soundtrack playing in the background. This could be one of the leading evidence of X-Men soon coming to the MCU, too!
