Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Feige confirmed that the MCU reboot of Fantastic Four is not going to be an origin story for the First Family as they want to do a new take on the film that has never been done in the previous adaptations.

“A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?,” Feige said. “We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”

It is interesting to hear that they’re not going to tell the origin story of the heroes when they get introduced in their own film at the beginning of Phase Six. However, it is also understandable considering that there were also previous films featuring the First Family and Marvel Studios now has to do a very different take to avoid being repetitive.

Obviously, we will never know if this is the right direction until we see the film. Nevertheless, it is still exciting that Marvel Studios is working hard on bringing the characters to the MCU and we can trust Feige and his company that they can finally deliver a very satisfying Fantastic Four film.

Right now, there is no director or cast members attached yet to the project. There are speculations that we will hear official announcements about them during the upcoming D23 expo in September.
