Now, a few months following the release of the uber-polarizing MCU flick, director Taika Waititi is candidly opening up about his plans that almost happened in the Thorquel, some of which are too crazy to even believe. As if the film wasn’t “godly” enough, the Korg actor revealed that a biblical nearly graced the film with his holy presence. Speaking with Ali Plumb of BBC Radio 1, Waititi shared that he had actual plans of including a cameo from a recognizable religious figure — none other than Jesus Christ himself. Taika shared that there was a scene featuring Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie where she mentions a certain “God of Carpentry”, adding that “there was supposed to be a cutaway to you-know-who. An appearance from Jesus may have caused more division amongst viewers so I guess Taika made the right call by not including the said cameo. It just goes to show how wacky his mind actually is and while it proved to be quite an asset in the past, the mixed reception Love and Thunder ending up getting just might be the sign that he must tone things down a bit.Thor: Love and Thunder is now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
