Yes, Riko is already a White Whistle in Made in Abyss at such a young age. She is also the first person to own two white whistles simultaneously. If we recall correctly, Riko’s mother, Lyza, was a white whistling who took her final plunge into the abyss after Riko was born. Lyza’s fate, however, remains unknown after her whistle and other notes were discovered and brought to the surface of the abyss by Hablog. The white whistle will be passed down to the delver’s closest relative, according to Delver Guild guidelines. If Riko refused, it would be given to the Delver Guild for safekeeping instead. Since Riko decided to keep Lyza’s white whistle, she was more than determined to return it to her mother. How Did Prushka Become Riko’s White Whistle in Made in Abyss?
After her remains were turned into a Life-Reverberating Stone, Prushka became Riko’s White Whistle. While she was being cursed by the abyss, her strong desire to join Riko and her friends on their adventure prevailed. Riko first met Prushka, Bondrewd’s adopted daughter, in the Ido Front within the fifth layer of the Abyss. At first, it was all smiles and happy faces, but Prushka’s unprecedented death at the hands of Bondrewd changed everything. Due to Prushka’s devotion and love for Bondrewd, she was able to take the burden of the curse away from her adoptive father. Thus, Bondrewd was able to obtain the blessing of the Abyss. Fortunately, Prushka’s remains were turned into a life-reverberating stone after her utmost desire to join Riko and the others in their adventure in the abyss. Riko soon obtains Prushka’s stone, which is transformed into a white whistle. Despite her tragic end, Riko will always have Prushka by her side by having her white whistle. Prushka’s consciousness remained intact in the stone as she was transformed into Riko’s white whistle. This allows her to subconsciously connect and communicate with Riko. Aside from that, she can share Riko’s senses with everything Riko encounters.
