Jennifer Lawrence recently spoke to The New York Times where she addressed how the new Hunger Games movie makes her feel. “That makes me feel old as mold,” she said. Lawrence then revealed that she has thought about how the films could be rebooted and that she would be too old to watch them. “I remember being 21 and thinking, ‘My God, one day they’ll redo and remake them. But I’ll be so old by then! I’ll be dead!’” she said.

Lawrence also pointed out that although she enjoys doing franchises, she feels that she could no longer work on one. “Franchises are so fun. I could never do one now ‘cause I’m just too old and brittle,” she said. Larence had previously addressed the new film, dropping some awesome advice for new stars Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth. “Oh, and the prequel? You guys are going to have the best time. Just have fun — don’t worry about anything,” Lawrence said with a smile. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is based on Suzanne Collins’ 2020 novel and will be directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Michael Arndt. It follows 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow who is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, the girl tribute from impoverished District 12. When Lucy sings during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor.

The film will also star Viola Davis, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, and Hunter Schafer. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is currently scheduled for release on November 17, 2023.
