However, this is not where the ‘darker twists’ end. Earlier this month, the Stranger Things writers revealed one of their ‘crazy sh*t that almost happened’ behind the making of season 2. They tweeted that season 2’s Will was supposed to murder Bob, which would have been an even devastating fate for Noah Schnapp’s character. This time, the writers shared something behind the works of El’s ‘almost’. See the tweet below:

The writers have yet to cease in surprising fans with yet another bloodier twist. The tweet reads ‘In season 2, Eleven was going to mercy kill her mother.’ If you remember, in season 2, given the catatonic state her mother was in, it was impossible to communicate other than the six words her mother last saw before she was taken away from her only daughter, and of course, El was the only one who could reach out to her telepathically.

It’s quite relieving to see that the showrunners did not go forward with this idea, especially since it wouldn’t really serve anything in moving the plot forward, nor would it be a good idea to add another on El’s killed list. We can expect to see these tweets turning into a series, befitting to be called ‘Crazy shit that almost happened’, indeed.
