Call of the Night Episode 12 Recap
The episode begins with Kou pondering his thoughts about vampires while Mahiru converses with Anko on the sidelines. After the vampire incident at school, Kou realized that he knew nothing about them. Yes, they are pretty and rational, but they also like humans and coexist with them. To clear his head, Kou decides to go out and talk with Nazuna. In Nazuna’s apartment, Kou unexpectedly pushes Nazuna away from him just as she was about to bite his neck. Kou was traumatized by vampires like Nazuna because of the vampire incident at school. She asked him to tell her what had occurred so they could talk about it. While Kou is worried about the old vampire losing control, Nazuna assures him that she will not be like him and that he should not group her together with the old vampire. Nazuna decides to go for a walk with Kou while they talk about his concerns. Vampires, according to Nazuna, can go up to 10 years without drinking blood. However, she is also aware that the vampires who did this died as a result of their refusal to accept who they had become. Furthermore, Nazuna questions Kou about the private detective who killed the old vampire, to which Kou responds that the detective wants him to give up his dream of becoming a vampire. In line with this, Nazuna asks Kou if he wants to quit. Kou responds and says that he’s just worried that the detective will kill Nazuna because of him. Kou also expressed his fear following the incident at school. It was probably because he was so emotional that he became afraid of vampires for the first time. Kou finally calmed down and apologized to Nazuna for shoving her away earlier. He tells her he’s fine and that Nazuna is welcome to suck his blood, which she gladly accepts. The episode then shifts to Kou meeting up with Mahiru, who was about to give his lover a bouquet of flowers. Mahiru brought up the vampire incident from the previous night after Kou embarrassed himself by looking at the woman’s breasts. Even after the incident in which Akira could have died, Mahiru questions Kou’s motivation for becoming a vampire. In turn, Kou becomes perplexed about his own motivations for wanting to become one. Kou returns to Nazuna’s apartment after meeting with Mahiru. When Kou arrives, he immediately embraces Nazuna, which surprises her. In his mind, Kou requests Nazuna to tell him what he was thinking at the time. Nazuna decided to visit Kou’s place rather than stay in her own apartment to mix things up a little. They both stayed in Kou’s room, where Nazuna began searching for Kou’s porn stash while cracking some lewd jokes. Nazuna begins to discuss Kou’s decision to continue his transformation into a vampire. Kou stated that he enjoys the night because it provides him with freedom. However, if becoming a vampire causes actual harm, the situation will be different. For the sake of his friends, Kou doesn’t want to hurt anyone just so he can trick them into sucking their blood. Nazuna’s expression changed as Kou hinted at his decision to stop. To help him decide, Nazuna told him that she only showed Kou the fun parts of becoming a vampire, not the mundane and boring parts. Before Nazuna left Kou’s room, the latter attempted to stop her, causing both of them to fall on the bed. While Kou expected Nazuna to kiss him, the latter only licked his neck and walked away. Kou and Anko met the next night to talk about what had happened. Kou confronted Anko and inquired about her knowledge of him. Surprisingly, Anko knows a lot about Kou, including his embarrassing hobbies. Kou asks Anko about her perspective when it comes to vampires. For Anko, they are evil creatures that cause unintended misfortune to human beings and make them unhappy, much like the old vampire who died from not drinking blood. Anko attempts to scare Kou in order to persuade him to abandon his dream of becoming one. She stated everything she knew, not only about Kou’s inability to fall in love but also about Nazuna’s potential death if Kou does not become her offspring. Before the episode ends, Kou expresses his disagreement with Anko’s reasoning. For Kou, there are vampires who aren’t so bad because they understand human frailties. Anko, on the other hand, calls the cops and orders Kou to go home and think again. As Kou gets away from Anko as fast as he can, he realizes that he never received an answer to the questions on his mind. His questions include how much Anko knows about vampires, why his blood tastes better than Anko’s, and whether Anko can actually kill a vampire like Nazuna. Finally, Kou arrives at the playground where he usually hangs out with Nazuna. Then, Hatsuka suddenly appears in front of him, and the credits begin to roll.
