The plot details for the series are being kept under wraps, but it will take place 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049 as the title suggested. Silka Luisa will serve as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Scott, Michael Green, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Ben Roberts, David W. Zucker, Clayton Krueger, Cynthia Yorkin, Frank Giustra, Isa Dick Hackett, and Tom Spezialy. Blade Runner 2099 will be the second TV series based on the beloved film. The first one is the anime series Blade Runner: Black Lotus which aired on Adult Swim from November 2021 to February 2022. Crunchyroll co-produced the series and streamed it in Japanese with English subtitles.
