So what can we expect from the mysterious Contessa? Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore has dropped hints at Val’s next move in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moore recently spoke to Screenrant where he was asked about Val’s future after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The producer confirmed that the Contessa will be back and her connection to Ross could play a major role in her plans.
“Certainly, this is not the last time you will see Valentina,” Moore said. “I think now, clearly, she and Ross might find themselves at different tables at the same restaurant.” “The detail about their past relationship was something Ryan thought would be really fun and interesting to explore,” he continued. “Hopefully, we’ll get to build on that. But with Valentina, much like Nick Fury in Phase One, we’re slowly building the story of a woman who maybe has her finger in more pies than you think. And we’ll just see if that’s a good thing or a bad thing for the MCU.” It has already been suggested that Val is recruiting for the Thunderbolts. But is she doing it for good or something more sinister? Needless to say, we can’t wait to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus again in another MCU project and we’re hoping we’ll get to find out who her next recruit is going to be. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Angela Bassett. The sequel also introduced Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, Michaela Coel as Aneka, and Tenoch Huerta as Namor.
