It was previously confirmed that the Berserk Golden Age era film trilogy will be recut for TV broadcasting later this year. The recut, dubbed the Memorial Edition, dropped a new trailer that highlights some of the key moments in the movies. Check it out below.
In addition to the trailer, the Berserk films got an exciting new key visual that focuses on Guts with Griffith and Casca. Check it out below.
The films follow “the lone mercenary Guts travels a land where a century-old war is raging. His ferocity and skill in battle attract the attention of Griffith, the leader of a group of mercenaries called the Band of the Hawk. Guts becomes Griffith’s closest ally and confidant, but despite all their victories, Guts begins to question why he fights for another man’s dream of ruling his own kingdom. Unknown to Guts, Griffith’s unyielding ambition is about to bestow a horrible fate on them both.”
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition is directed by Yuta Sano and based on the theatrical editions directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka. The recut edition will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, BS11, and Animax.
The TV broadcast is another major update on the franchise this year. It was previously reported that the Berserk manga is moving forward with some new chapters. Hakusensha has announced that the manga will resume serialization, this time with Kouji Mori taking over in supervising the new content after Kentaro Miura’s passing.
The Berserk Golden Age arc films will premiere on TOKYO MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 on October 1, 2022. The movies will begin broadcasting on Animax on October 16, 2022.
