Here’s What Happened Before Beast Tamer Episode 8
The episode started with a flashback revealing the condition of the release set by the Shadow Knight. Based on the intel, Rein and his friends headed to the location, but Shadow Knight refused to allow Sora to leave with them as it would break the deal with the monster. Upon reaching the location, Rein and company found the Shadow Knight sitting on a throne with Runa. Rein then used his Fireball magic against their opponent. The magic allowed Rein and Kanade to deliver a few blows at the Shadow Knight. Meanwhile, the Shadow Knight realized that Sora was the one who sent Rein and the others to him, so it immediately attacked Runa. Tania intervened and released Runa from captivity. In the meantime, Rein formed a contract with a few Ahrbees to act as a distraction. Rein then launched Boost on Kanade, who used her improved powers to fight and defeat the Shadow Knight. Rein explained the Boost spell to Kanade while Tania carried Runa in her arms. Later, when Runa awoke, Rein informed her that Sora asked them to save her. Runa was relieved as she embraced Sora. The duo thanked Rein and his group for helping them. Kanade hoped Runa and Sora would return to the village, but Sora revealed that Runa was excommunicated so they cannot go back. With no place to call home, Kanade invited them to join Rein’s group. Rein agreed to let them be a part of their group, and he formed a contract with Runa and Sora. Later, Rein met with the Hero’s Party and finished the quest. He wanted to give them the Shield of Truth. Arios was shocked that it took Rein and his group only two days to retrieve the shield while he and his party struggled for two weeks. Arios was suspicious about the authenticity of the Shield of Truth, so Rein suggested that his group can thoroughly examine it. Leane unleashed Appraisal on the shield and everyone was shocked when it turned out to be real. Elsewhere, Arios noted two new faces along with Kanade and Tania. Rein did not want to create a scene, so he asked for his reward. He was given 20 gold coins for completing the quest. Before Rein could leave for good, Aggath stopped and asked him again if he would like to rejoin the party. Arios was agitated by this offer, but Aggath knew the party was severely inadequate without Rein’s support. Leane and Mina were reluctant at first but agreed to Aggath’s statement. Even they asked Rein if he would return. However, Rein rejected the offer and said that he is happy with his current life. As Rein left, Mina, Aggath, and Leane were angry that he refused the offer. Meanwhile, Arios was still fuming after his defeat at the hands of Rein. He vowed to eliminate Rein one day. Elsewhere, Rein told his group the story of the first hero who defeated the Demon King. As it turns out, only someone with the blood of the god can become the hero and unlock the potential called Limit Break to be able to defeat the Demon King. Meanwhile, Sora noted that Arios might be weaker than Rein but he could be the real hero. Kanade suggested that Rein should go ahead and tame more spirits as it will allow him to gain more powers needed to crush the Demon King. However, Rein put down the suggestion and stated that he could only achieve all this because of their support, but he did not dismiss Kanade’s idea completely.
