Deadline has reported that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness has been tapped to pen the screenplay for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. He is joining Cretton to work on the mega-tentpole film that is already set for release in 2025. Prior to penning Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Loveness previously served as a writer for TV shows such as Rick and Morty, Miracle Workers, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. He has also written for the Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards ceremonies.

The plot details for the film are being kept under wraps for now. However, the title is based on the popular comic storyline of the same name which serves as a clue on what we might see in the film. It would be interesting to see how the upcoming films, especially Quantumania, will set up the events of The Kang Dynasty. Considering that Kang the Conqueror will appear in the upcoming Ant-Man film and is expected to be the major big baddie in The Kang Dynasty as the title obviously suggested, it makes a lot of sense for Marvel Studios to hire Loveness to write the fifth Avengers film as it can have a more precise continuity in terms of Kang’s journey in the upcoming films.
